Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-02

Iris is open-source software (Apache 2.0). These Terms apply to the hosted deployment of Iris that you are currently accessing. The legal entity operating that deployment ("the Operator") is your counterparty under these Terms. If you self-host Iris or deploy a fork, you (or your organization) become the Operator for your own deployment and must publish your own Terms.

For this deployment:

  • Operator: ClickBus
  • Jurisdiction: São Paulo, Brazil
  • Contact: dpo@clickbus.com

These Terms govern your use of Iris ("the Service") — both the open-source CLI distributed under Apache 2.0 and this hosted deployment. By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms; if you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and access

The hosted platform is access-restricted to users authorized by the Operator (typically via GitHub OAuth against approved GitHub organizations). Authorization may be revoked at the Operator's sole discretion (for example, when employment or contractor agreements end, or for violation of these Terms). The CLI is publicly available and free of charge under the Apache License 2.0.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Probe, scan, or test the security of the Service without written permission (see SECURITY.md for the responsible disclosure process)
  • Attempt to access workspaces or data you are not authorized to view
  • Submit content that is unlawful, infringes third-party rights, or contains malware
  • Interfere with the Service's operation or other users' access (rate-limit abuse, DoS, etc.)
  • Resell, sublicense, or rebrand a hosted deployment without an explicit agreement with the Operator (the open-source code is governed by the Apache 2.0 license, which already permits commercial use and modification)

3. Your content and data

The Service processes Git repository metadata (commits, diffs, PR data) supplied by the CLI on your machine. The Service does not receive or store source code. You retain all rights in your own data and code; nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to the Operator. Data-handling practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Service availability

The Operator aims for high availability but does not guarantee uptime. The hosted platform may be unavailable for maintenance, upgrades, infrastructure issues at upstream providers (Vercel, Supabase, GitHub), or other reasons. The Service is provided as is, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator's aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to direct damages and shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service during the 12 months preceding the claim (this amount is BRL 0,00 / USD 0,00 for the open-source CLI and for hosted deployments offered without charge). The Operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits or data.

6. Intellectual property

The Service combines:

  • The CLI (iris/ and related source) — licensed under Apache 2.0; see LICENSE
  • The platform code — also licensed under Apache 2.0
  • Operator-specific branding (logo, name, deployment-specific assets, if any) — owned by the Operator and not granted by the Apache license (Section 6 of the license)

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. The Operator may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if your authorization with the Operator ends. Upon termination, your account and personal data are handled according to the Privacy Policy.

8. Changes

Material changes to these Terms will be announced in the platform UI and reflected in this file in the public repository. Your continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of São Paulo, Brazil. Any dispute arising hereunder is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
